ABOUT US

Symposia Magazine is a youth-led online and print literary journal publishing emerging Aotearoa poets.

Symposia was started by six young Pōneke based creatives who have had their work published and efforts encouraged by organisations like The Spinoff, Starling, Landfall, Redraft, National Schools Poetry Award and the Michael King Writers Centre Young Writers Programme.

From our experience, we’ve noticed demand for youth-led literary publications for young people. Symposia was created to act as a continuum of support during and after secondary school; a platform that bridges the middle ground between emerging and established writing.
